What are Monster Tiles?
Monster Tiles are game tokens designed to be used in any games where there is a need to represent a creature/monster of some kind, even mounts.
What are they made of?
They are made of ceramic.
What kinds of games do you mean?
Games like Dungeons and Dragons™ (by Wizards of the Coast), Mutants and Masterminds™ (by Green Ronin), D20™ Modern (by Wizards of the Coast), and any other games that use the Wizards of the Coast D20™ or similar gaming system.
Where do the monsters/creatures come from that are on the tiles?
Monster Tiles, Series 1 and Series 2 are focused on creatures from Wizards of the Coast's SRD which are basically the monsters found in the Monster Manual v3.5. However, we also offer NPC tokens and horses. It is our intention to regularly add more monsters from many popular games and sources.
How many monsters do you have represented?
There are currently 45 popular monsters, 20 NPC’s, and 2 horses represented and more will be added soon.
Can I recommend a monster?
Certainly! We are always looking for feedback from customers on which monsters they'd like to see in an upcoming series.
Are monsters the only thing you have on tiles?
No! We also offer NPC tokens and two horse tokens (used as mounts). We are releasing our first Dungeon Accessories set at GenCon Indy 2006, so keep your eyes out for that.
Will you be putting other pictures on the tiles. Like characters, for instance?
Yes. We are running a series of character/npc tiles using work from popular artists like Larry Elmore and will be releasing our first Dungeon Accessories set at GenCon Indy 2006.
Where do the pictures come from?
We hire professional artists to create beautiful full-color art to be used on our tiles.
Please see our artwork credits page for more information.
What's so special about the pictures?
We strive to insure our artists depict as closesly as possible the creatures as they are described.
Why does it matter how closely they are depicted.
Being GMs and players ourselves, we recognized the need for product that could be used to represent monsters for encounters in our games. Then, we decided we wanted something that we could put out on a gaming board that REALLY represented what monster we were using in our encounter.
How big are they?
Each Monster Tile is designed to fit inside the D20™ designation of "face" for the creature represented.
A tile representing a "medium" creature will fit inside a 1"x1" square (approximately 15/16 in. on each side).
A tile representing a "large" creature will fit inside a 2"x2" square (approx. 1 7/8 in. on each side).
The tiles are approximately 3/16ths of an inch thick.
How durable are the tiles?
Due to how small the tiles are, they are not very susceptible to breaking. They are made of ceramic though and can be chipped if banged really hard against a very unforgiving surface - like concrete. We have yet to break one in all the time of playing with them. We've never done anything more than stuff them back in the velvet bag and throw them in the duffle bag, and they've held up splendidly.

Where can I buy Monster Tiles?
Right here! Currently, we are focused on internet sales only through our own website. However, we will be looking for opportunities to sell our products through other online and brick and mortar retailers very soon.
